Pilgrims who do not withdraw their deposits in full will get the value of benefits

KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. Prospective pilgrims for the year of 1441 H / 2020 M who canceled their departure are allowed to withdraw a full payment of BiPIH (Hajj Travel Expenses). This consideration was made regarding the economic impact arising from the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to a member of the Implementing Agency for Finance, the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) Acep R. Jayaprawira, there are two options that the community can do, whether to withdraw the deposit in full or not.

For those who want to withdraw a deposit in full, they can contact their respective travel agents. According to Acep, the prospective hajj pilgrims can only collect payments in full so that they do not lose their rights as pilgrims leaving next year. The amount of deposit in full varies depending on the embarkation of each prospective congregation.

According to Presidential Decree No. 6 of 2020 concerning BPIH (Hajj Implementation Costs) for the Year 1441H / 2020M, the total payment is around Rp. 6 million for pilgrims from the Aceh embarkation and Rp. 13 million for the Makassar embarkation.

Refunds will be made no later than five working days after receiving a letter requesting the return of the BiPIH (Hajj Travel Expenses) from the Ministry of Religion in accordance with Article 4 of PBPKH No.2 of 2020.

As for the congregation who did not withdraw their deposit in full, it would be stored and managed separately by the BPKH.

“Repayment payments ranging from Rp. 6 million – Rp. 13 million will get a benefit value or return, the amount is in accordance with the rate of return on investment and placement made by BPKH. This is in accordance with KMA No. 494 of 2020, “said Acep in his statement, Friday (12/6).

Deposit in full will be given through virtual account per each congregation. The distribution of the benefit value of the payment in full shall be made no later than 30 working days before the departure of the first batch of Hajj pilgrimage in 1442 H / 2021.

As we know, the BPIH (Hajj Implementation Fee) reaches IDR 70 million per person which is divided into two components, direct cost, and indirect cost.

Direct cost is the fee paid directly by the prospective pilgrims or what is often called the BiPIH (Hajj Travel Fee) of IDR 38 million.

While indirect cost originating from the results of the development or optimization of the initial deposit, which in Law Number 34 of 2014 is called the benefit value.

“For the BiPIH (Hajj Travel Costs) consists of an initial deposit of Rp. 25 million which is paid by prospective pilgrims to obtain a portion number. Furthermore, the prospective pilgrims will pay a deposit in full when the name of the prospective congregation officially departs that year.
