“In the health sector, we already have seven health facilities built with waqf-based funds. For the health sector, we are more intense in managing the assets we already have with an orientation to increase beneficiaries, ”explained Bobby when contacted Republika, Wednesday (3/2).
DD’s health facilities include AKA Medika Sribhawono Hospital, East Lampung, Griya Medika Lampung, Kartika Jakarta Hospital, Assayidah Jakarta Hospital, and Achmad Wardi Eye Hospital, the first special eye hospital in Serang City, Banten with non-sewing and surgical techniques. using the latest medical equipment, with superior services’ Vitreoretina “and” Cataract Center “which is the result of a collaboration between DD and the Indonesian Waqf Board (BWI).
“The BWI collaboration hospital is even supported by the sukuk waqf program initiated by the government, BWI, and productive waqf forums, to be able to provide benefits in the form of sukuk returns and increase the principal capital of Ahmad Wardi Hospital management,” he explained.
“The assistance from the sukuk is used for the construction of a Retina Center at the Achmad Wardi Serang Eye Hospital,” he continued.
For education, DD has built and developed existing and ongoing waqf assets. Currently, DD already has three schools and plans to develop the Khadijah Learning Center, an educational institution for vocational entrepreneurship programs for women.
“DD wants to provide better development to Muslim women so that they are more easily accepted in the work sector which is no longer vulnerable to acts of harassment and violence,” he explained.
“We will also build a Tahfidz Green Lido Islamic boarding school in Sukabumi, on a waqf land area of 3 hectares. This pesantren will later provide space for religious and modern education based on the entrepreneurial aspect, “he continued.
In this pesantren, there will also be a showcase for integrated farming management in the form of aquaponics-based Green House management. In addition, students will also be divided into two groups, namely the poor and general.
“We are trying to make this pesantren a superior educational facility which is the goal of society,” he said.
Meanwhile, in the social and preaching sector, Dompet Dhuafa has built many waqf-based houses of worship, which are not only used as houses of worship but also function as centers of excellence.
“In Lampung, in the light of the country in particular, we have established a Koran study center and nearby we have also built the Almajid Hospital. These two waqf buildings will be used as centers for DD’s da’wah activities in Lampung, and in several other cities, ”he explained.
The learning center for the Koran DD is an alternative given to students to make it easier for them to gain knowledge of religion, especially about the Koran and to be balanced with fiqh, manners and social wisdom typical of Lampung as well as the inculcation of da’wah values that are in accordance with DD’s mission.
“In the productive economy sector, we are channeling waqf for the capital of farmers in Ujung Genteng, Sukabumi, including DD in the food security program. We also provide support for the Social Trust Fund, which is one of DD’s partners, to see the potential of micro businesses that can be helped, “he added.
