KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. The Managing Director of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, Agus Susanto, confirmed that there was no increase in the contributions of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan participants.
The increase in Work Accident Benefits (JKK) or Death Security (JKM) benefits is contained in Government Regulation (PP) No 82 of 2019, concerning Amendments to Government Regulation No. 44 of 2015, which regulates the Implementation of Work Accident Security and Death Security Programs.

“The increase in benefits is carried out with no plans to increase contributions, because the strength of the JKK and JKM program funds managed by BP Jamsostek is still very sufficient to support the new benefits,” said Agus to Kontan, Wednesday (18/12).
Agus said, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan supports the government’s move to issue this PP because the increase in benefits will certainly greatly help ease the burden on workers and their families who are at risk of work accidents and death.
He said, the increase in the benefits of JKK and JKM was very significant, including the total JKM benefits from Rp 24 million to Rp 42 million and scholarship assistance for JKK and JKM, from for 1 child heir worth a total of Rp 12 million, to 2. the children of the heirs, for educational assistance from kindergarten to college with a maximum value of Rp. 174 million.
“The government (Ministry of Manpower, DJSN, Ministry of Finance, Kemenko PMK and other related institutions) also involved BP Jamsostek in the process of making this PP, to ensure a proper form of compensation or assistance,” he said.

Chairman of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi) Tax Center, Ajib Hamdani, assessed that the revision of protection points for workers in the PP is still relatively relevant. This is because the purpose of this PP revision is good, namely to better protect workers.
On the other hand, Ajib saw this cause potential cost addition to the company. However, this risk can becover and transferred to insurance. “So, in principle, this is a middle way for the government to guarantee work safety and comfort,” said Ajib.
As is well known, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially revised the compensation regulations for workers who had work accidents and died. This rule is contained in Government Regulation (PP) No 82 of 2019.
The important points of this regulatory change include the benefits of work accident insurance for workers, the government added three points. First, treatment includes commodities and complications related to occupational accidents and occupational diseases.
