Mia Syn, a registered dietitian and nutritionist, says avocado fat is not only good for skin and hair. “Healthy fats in avocado can help absorb fat-soluble vitamins A, D, K, and E,” Mia told Elite Daily via email, reported Wednesday (1/8/2018).

“Vitamin K is important for blood clotting, while vitamin E helps protect cells, tissues, and organs from free radical damage,” he added.

2. Maintain mental health

The New York Times reports, avocados contain lots of magnesium which is good for maintaining mental health and avoiding stress.

“Magnesium deficiency has been linked to stress, high levels of anxiety, and difficulty sleeping,” says Dr. Raj Dasgupta, a professor of pulmonary and sleep medicine at the University of Southern California.
“Magnesium is one substance that is needed so that you can sleep soundly at night,” added Raj.

3. Prevent Cataracts

According to a study published in the journal Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science, experts found some carotenoids or pigments in avocados are effective at preventing cataracts and vision problems in older people.

4. Prevent constipation

According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, avocados contain lots of fiber which is good for digestion and prevents constipation.

“Avocados contain about 40 percent of the recommended daily fiber intake for body needs,” said experts.

All avocado meat is basically good, but the most nutritious is the pulp that is closest to the skin.
