KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian is optimistic that holding the Regional Head Elections (Pilkada) during the corona virus pandemic (Covid-19) has multiple benefits.
Not only political benefits, Tito said that the simultaneous Pilkada in 270 regions had an economic impact. Especially for the people of the area.

“Pilkada has a double benefit, if the proverb is one row two, three islands are exceeded,” said Tito during a press conference, Wednesday (17/6).
Tito said the regional election budget could be a regional stimulus. First, 60% of the budget will be used as incentives for election organizers.
“This is the same as a labor-intensive program, we provide assistance but work for six months,” explained Tito.
In addition, the remaining 40% can also be felt by the benefits for the regions. This is because the remaining 40% of the budget will be used to purchase equipment for the election needs.
This expenditure is considered to be a stimulus for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), including ultra-micro. Pilkada will drive the regional economy.
