JAKARTA. The Financial Services Authority (OJK) plan to open the door wider for pension funds to offer more benefits, was welcomed by financial institution pension funds (DPLK) players. It is believed that the rate of industrial growth will be even faster if the regulation is realized.

Deputy Chairman of the DPLK Association, Nur Hasan Kurniawan, assessed that the interest of the community and companies in saving old age preparation funds in the DPLK would be even greater if the benefits that could be obtained were also greater. In other words, the products from the DPLK will be more attractive.

The indication can be seen from the development of funds under management in the pension program for severance pay, aka PPUKP. “From PPUKP alone, it shows a positive trend. Moreover, if the benefits are more, the public interest will be even greater,” said Nur Hasan, some time ago.

Regulators have indeed placed the expansion of pension fund benefits as one of the priority programs this year. Examples of the expansion of benefits that can be provided include the benefits of Haj and Umrah, education and housing. If the benefits that DPLK can provide are even more diverse, it is believed that the growth in managed funds will be above 20% each year.

For this year, he estimates the growth in managed funds for the DPLK industry will be in the range of 15% to 20%. That way, the funds under management until the close of this year could reach Rp. 54.4 trillion to Rp. 56.7 trillion.
