T1 joins PMWL 2020 after acquisition of PUBG Mobile Team

A major Korean esports organization has finally entered the world of PUBG MOBILE. This happens after they have dominated eSports on their PCs for 10 years. To find new challenges, this T1 organization wants to enter the world of PUBG Mobile.

What is a T1 eSports organization?

Originally founded in 2003, T1 made a name for itself in the game StarCraft. The team is one of the most successful organizations in League of Legends, winning world championships in 2013, 2015 and 2016. They have won nine championships in various esports divisions and are one of the largest organizations operating in Asia.

Acquisition of xenon team

In the first half of 2020, Team Xenon or Xenon eSports won the PUBG Mobile Street Challenge 2020 and created a hype. The tournament was held from April 24th to April 26th and offered a prize pool totaling approximately US $ 58,000. Team Xenon won the final because of their consistency in 14 games over the last three days.

Rumor has it that T1 is looking for an active team in Asia to open a new division. Impressed by the performance of Team Xenon this year, T1 has won the entire roster and will represent them at PMWL 2020 announced on their Twitter account. T1 will be an opponent for the PUBG Mobile Indonesia team, Bigetron Ra and Morph Team, who will also participate in the PMWL 2020 East division on July 10.

This is the first time T1 has entered mobile games, and it is also one of the largest organizations in the world to enter PUBG MOBILE, following Fnatic, Cloud9, TSM and Faze Clan. This announcement could also be a major factor for the South Korean region, as the region is unknown in the game.
