Sun Life welcomes the coordination of benefits with BPJS

JAKARTA. PT Sun Life Financial Indonesia plans to explore a benefit coordination cooperation alias Coordination of Benefit (COB) with the Health Social Security Administering Body (BPJS). The collaboration offers co-benefits harmonization with the government’s National Health Insurance program.
Bert Paterson, President Director of Sun Life, admitted that his party is ready to work together to offer additional benefits to BPJS Kesehatan participants. “Through this cooperation, we can provide more benefits than what has been guaranteed in the government program. We are very supportive, ”he said, Tuesday (22/4).
As a life insurance company, Sun Life also offers individual health insurance with additional insurance, such as accident benefits, critical illness benefits, hospitalization and surgery benefits, and premium exemptions.
However, the COB scheme itself, according to Bert, is currently only limited to what has been agreed between BPJS and related associations. His party has not specifically offered a cooperation scheme. “This is an opportunity for us to offer protection to the wider community,” he added.
