Benefits of Coconut Oil, Can Clean Chopping Boards and Furniture

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Besides being able to be used for cooking, as well as other health benefits, it turns out that coconut oil can be used to clean various impurities in the house and kitchen utensils.

Reporting from Taste of Home, Wednesday (27/1/2021), coconut oil can be used to clean the pan to the terrace, along with other uses of coconut oil in the house.

Remove Sticky Label Residue

Coconut oil can remove sticky and lingering residue from labels. Just apply coconut oil to the sticky area then let it sit for five minutes or so and wipe it off with a cloth or towel.

In addition, coconut oil can also be used to remove gum marks that have fallen on the carpet.

Repel Insects

In addition, coconut oil can repel annoying mosquitoes. Mix coconut oil with a few drops of an essential oil like lemongrass, rosemary or peppermint and rub it on your skin to keep mosquitoes away.

Cleaning Leather

Coconut oil can also clean leather and make it shinier, just wipe the area you want to clean, such as leather sofas or even leather shoes, using a damp cloth in a circular motion.

Clean Furniture

Wooden chairs and tables can also be cleaned using coconut oil. Put coconut oil on a damp cloth and apply it to the furniture in a circular motion. Let the coconut oil soak into the wood for about 15 minutes then wipe off with a cloth.

Remove Stains on Clothes

Coconut oil can also clean stubborn stains left on clothes, mix coconut oil and baking soda and apply it to the stain. Leave it on for a few minutes then wash it off.

Clean the Chopping Board

Wooden cutting boards can easily dull and collect bacteria on surfaces after use. Applying a little coconut oil to the surface can help restore its brilliance, keep the wood moist, and remove harmful bacteria.

Clean the Shower

Keep your showers and baths sparkling with a coconut oil solution. Mix it with baking soda to form a paste, then rub it all over the mold stain or soap scum. Leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes, then wash it off.
