Trans Sumatra benefit Rp. 769.5 T

KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. The construction of the Trans Sumatra toll road is being accelerated. Seven banks have also stated their willingness to provide loans worth Rp. 8 trillion to finance the construction of part of the Trans Sumatra toll road.
Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati said this project would increase economic activity. He estimates that the range of multiplier effects that can be saved by the public from vehicle efficiency is Rp 2.23 trillion per year.
“The total benefit from the total permanent impact of the Trans Sumatra toll road could reach Rp. 769.5 trillion. It is much bigger than the value of the project itself, ”said Sri Mulyani in Jakarta, Wednesday (27/12).
This figure includes the benefits earned by developers and other stakeholders, including the community.
Therefore, according to him, this project should not be delayed. Because, the impact on the economy and social is great, “If it is postponed every month or year then we will postpone the benefits,” he said.
Just so you know, the Bakauheni-Terbanggi Besar segment is one of the 24 Trans-Sumatra Toll Road segments developed by Hutama Karya through an assignment from the government. Built in 2015, this project is targeted to operate in 2019.
Currently, section 1 of Bakauheni Port to South Bakauheni, as well as Section 5 from Lematang to Kotabaru are finished and ready to operate in the near future.
