BANDUNG. The Social Security Administration for Employment (BPJS) has not been operating until now. Apart from still waiting for the Government Regulation (PP) that underlies its implementation, the operator of the National Social Security System in the manpower sector also still has time until July 1 2015.
Put aside the draft PP which is still inviting debate between BPJS Ketenagakerjaan and the Government. However, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan claims to have noble ideals in protecting its future participants. Come on, take a look at the benefits and additional benefits of membership in BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.
Endro Sucahyono, Head of the Technical Division of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, said that in addition to the Work Accident Security, Death Security, Old Age Security and Pension Security programs, his party has adopted the Participant Welfare Improvement program as additional benefits that will be given to participants later.
First, the down payment for housing with a bank cooperation. This program helps provide initial funding for participants who wish to own a house. This program facility allows participants to get a maximum loan of Rp. 20 million for workers with wages below Rp. 5 million, Rp. 35 million for workers earning Rp. 10 million and Rp. 50 million for workers with wages of more than Rp. 10 million.
Second, a home renovation loan in collaboration with a bank. This program helps provide funds for home improvement (renovation) purposes. Meanwhile, the maximum loan size is IDR 50 million with a term of up to 10 years. BPJS Ketenagakerjaan promises an annual interest rate of 6%.
Third, administrative assistance in obtaining a Home Ownership Credit (KPR) facility. This program provides a grant of Rp. 500 thousand for participants who receive a loan for housing in cooperation with a bank to help arrange mortgages at the bank.
Fourth, assistance in providing ambulances provided through hospitals and industrial area managers to improve the quality of work accident services for participants. Fifth, iron folate free medical assistance to support female workers. Sixth, procurement of medical check-ups to anticipate disease.
Seventh, scholarship assistance in order to improve the intelligence of child workers who participate in social security. The amount of funding for education assistance is Rp. 1.8 million per year for elementary to junior high school (SLTP) and Rp. 2.4 million per year for senior high school (SLTA) and tertiary education levels.
“Lastly, assistance during termination of employment (PHK) to social security participants. So, participants who were laid off received assistance of Rp. 500 thousand, “explained Endro. However, it should be remembered, these are still the aspirations of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.
