The value of the benefits of the Haj funds reached IDR 6 trillion in 2018

KONTAN.CO.ID – SURABAYA. The Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) recorded the total value of benefits or returns from investing in the 2018 Hajj funds of IDR 6 trillion. This number is an increase of 28% compared to 2017 which amounted to IDR 4.7 trillion.
Head of BPKH Anggito Abimanyu, the value of benefits obtained this year will be distributed in early 2019. The value of these benefits will be allocated for the implementation of the haj pilgrimage, yields for pilgrims, and BPKH operational costs.
Anggito said the portion for BPKH operations covered 5% of the total value of benefits. Meanwhile, for the percentage of benefit value sharing to pilgrim candidates, his party is still waiting for approval from the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR).
Furthermore, BPKH targets to be able to manage Hajj funds of IDR 121 trillion in 2019, up 10% from this year’s IDR 110 trillion. The target for next year’s benefit value will also increase to Rp. 7 trillion.
For that, Anggito said, his party would change the portion of the hajj fund investment instrument. From the original 50% at the Recipient Bank for Hajj Implementation Fees (BPS BPIH) and 50% in Islamic securities, to 50% in BPS BPIH, 30% in Islamic securities, and 20% in direct investment and other investments. “For foreign investment, most of them are in Saudi Arabia and for domestic cooperation with BUMN,” said Anggito in Surabaya, Friday (14/12).
State-owned enterprises (BUMN) that will become partners of BPKH cooperation next year are Garuda Indonesia and Pertamina. In the future, BPKH will also explore cooperation with Telkom, Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), and Bank Indonesia. “Because the companies that contribute the most to the pilgrims are Telkom, Pertamina, Bank Indonesia, we hope to work together in the future,” he said.
