The Jakarta mask movement was launched to suppress the transmission of Covid-19

KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. Various parties have made various efforts to reduce the spread of Covid-19. DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Fadil, and Jayakarta Military Commander Maj. Gen. Dudung Abdurachman pursued this by launching the Jakarta Masker movement.

This movement was also followed by Forkopimda in the Jakarta buffer zone, including Tangerang City, South Tangerang City, Depok City, Bekasi City, and Bekasi Regency.

“This was followed by 413 tough community-based villages. In that village we distributed masks to the community by promoting PKK mothers, youth organizations, mosque administrators, and women Persit and Bhayangkara,” said Inspector General Fadil Imran at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters , Wednesday (3/1/2021).

It is hoped that by reminding how to use masks, the health benefits can be felt and the Covid-19 rate in Jabodetabek can be reduced.

On the same occasion, Anis Baswedan said that all residents wanted the Covid-19 outbreak to end, and wearing a mask was an effort to get there. “That’s why we campaign continuously for citizens throughout Jabodetabek to be more disciplined, consistent and of course this will break the chain (Covid-19),” added Anies.

Meanwhile, Pangdam Jayakarta Maj. Gen. Dudung Abdurachman said public awareness of wearing masks was very important. “Because we do not necessarily enforce the law, the TNI and the local government in the field if the public is not aware of wearing masks,” said Dudung.

“Because using the main key mask which is fundamental for all of us to suppress the increase of Covid-19 in DKI,” he concluded.
