Invite Children to Play in the Kitchen, Here Are the Benefits!
The kitchen can indeed be an interesting ‘classroom’ for children to learn many things, Ma. Pans, plastic containers for washing vegetables, various spices (salt, pepper, and nutmeg), various vegetables, fruits, or cutlery (plates, spoons, forks and knives). So there’s nothing wrong, when you cook for the whole family on the weekends, for example, let him help you. He can help you wash the vegetables, prepare the spices for use, or do other simple things.
If the child is not interested, provide safe kitchen utensils, and let him play with his own imagination in a corner of the kitchen. As long as he is ‘in action’, don’t forget to keep an eye on, yes. Also, make sure the kitchen environment is completely safe so that unwanted things do not happen. Keep sharp objects, such as butcher knives, or electronic objects that may have sharp parts (for example, food processor).
Ask him to stay away from the stove, oven, or microwave, especially when they are burning (this is really dangerous for him!). After the ‘study’ event is over, you can invite him to celebrate togetherness by eating his ‘work’. A cup of tea for you and a glass of milk for him can be a ‘friend’ for a pleasant meal. To make it even more exciting, don’t forget to invite Papa to join in! (photo: fotosearch)
