Elected Bakhtiar Deputy Regent of Batanghari, Must Provide Benefits to Many People
The General Election Commission (KPU) of Batanghari has appointed the elected Regent and Deputy Regent of Batanghari through decree 3 / PL.02.7-Kpt / 1504 / KPU-Kab / I / 2021. The duo of the former regional secretary, M Fadhil Arief and Bakhtiar, were appointed as the pair that received the most votes, namely 60,842 votes or 37.82 percent of the total valid votes.
After interviewing Fadhil, Tribun had the opportunity to talk with Bakhtiar, Tuesday (26/1). Here’s the excerpt:
Tribune: Prior to your last candidacy for the position of regional secretary, the highest career was a civil servant. Do you imagine becoming the Deputy Regent?
Bakhtiar: Not at all, inconceivable. I don’t have such ideals, it’s just that along the way of life, I have to live according to the will of the Almighty.
Next, I will carry out government policy, we know the situation in Batanghari Regency is currently declining, so as much as I can, in my opinion.
Along the way, I entered the 2020 Pilkada contest, then paired up with M Fadhil Arief.
There I saw chemistry at least, this is what makes me want to move forward together.
Tribune: Has there been any discussion, how will the division of tasks go forward? For example, as the vice regent, will you take care of the education, tourism or social economy sectors?
Bakhtiar: There is no discussion, we are mutually backup, counting each other, complementing each other, where there is empty space we must fill it together.
There is no detailed division. I don’t think so, just live together and collaborate.
