JAKARTA. PT Avrist Assurance, a life insurance company that also offers health insurance products, is interested in exploring benefit coordination or coordination of benefits with the Social Security Administering Body (BPJS) for Health. Avrist admitted that he was tempted to offer additional benefits from the mandatory government program.
However, Perry M Diah, Business Development Director Avrist Assurance said that his party is still thinking about the technical implementation of the health insurance cooperation. “I’m interested, yes, but we are still considering what the implementation will be like,” he said when met with KONTAN, Wednesday (7/5).
This is because the additional benefits offered by private insurance in the COB collaboration are only for non-medical facilities, such as the comfort of inpatient rooms. BPJS Kesehatan itself only limits non-medical facilities to class 1 in government hospitals the equivalent of private hospitals.
Meanwhile Avrist offers health insurance products for individual and corporate customers. As much as 30 percent of the company’s total business is contributed by health insurance products. The health insurance offered by the company is mostly for middle class and upper middle class customers. “Yes, we have a COB cooperation plan for health insurance products,” said Perry.
As of the first quarter of this year, Avrist has recorded net premium income of Rp 304.2 billion. This achievement is down 14% when compared to the same period last year, which amounted to Rp 354.5 billion.
