KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Ida Fauziyah emphasized that even though there is work accident contribution (JKK), the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (BPJamsostek) death insurance fee (JKM) is 99%, it will not reduce the benefits of both.

“This is really 99% special. But the Jamsostek contribution adjustment, the right of participants to receive benefits, is still implemented. The benefits are permanent. The contribution is relaxed,” said Ida in the socialization of Government Regulation (PP) Number 49 of 2020 concerning the Adjustment of Employment Social Security Program Contribution. During the Nonalam Disaster the Spread of Corona Virus Disease (Covid-19) at the Ministry of Manpower Office in Jakarta, on Wednesday (9/9).

President Director of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Agus Susanto added, the relaxation of the dues was a form of stimulus provided by the government to employers. This also complements the stimulus that has been given to workers through subsidized wages for workers / laborers.

In line with Ida, Agus said, participants do not need to worry because the benefits of labor social security will remain the same even though there is a reduction in contributions.

“The benefits do not change. For example, an accident needs to be covered by BP Jamsostek until it recovers unlimited and if he dies there is compensation for death. While being treated, there is compensation for wages for not being able to work, then those who die their children get compensation for scholarships until they go to school, “he explained.

For this relief, Agus gave an illustration, for example, for the JKM fee of Rp 6,800, participants only need to make 1% deductions, which is Rp. 68.

“The JKM contribution is for example Rp. 6,800, if 1% is only Rp. 68, so a year it is only Rp. 800, the equivalent of one cracker but the benefits are extraordinary,” he said.

There are three types of relaxation of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan contributions issued by Government Regulation Number 49 of 2020. First, the leniency of the deadline for work accident insurance contributions (JKK), life insurance contributions (JKM), old age insurance contributions (JHT) and pension security contributions (JP) every month. Initially, it must be paid on the 15th to the 30th of the following month.

Second, the JKK and JKM contributions are reduced by 99% of the monthly contribution obligations. Third, postponement of payment of part of JP’s dues in the amount of 99% of the obligation every month. The relaxation provisions start from the labor social security program contributions from August 2020 to January 2021.

To obtain relaxation, based on Article 13 paragraph (1), it requires employers, participants who receive wages and participants who do not receive wages who registered before August 2020 to be given a JKK and JKM contribution relief after paying the contributions until July 2020.

For employers, participants who receive wages and participants who are not wage recipients who have paid the JKK and JKM contributions in August 2020 or the following month and there is an excess, the excess JKK and JKM contributions are calculated for the payment of the JKK and JKM contributions.
