Circular on Activity Limitation Ends, Muzaqir Boven: What are the benefits?

Circular on activity restrictions

Bitung, BeritaManado.com – Bitung Mayor Circular Number: 008/46 / WK concerning Restriction of Community Activities in the Context of Covid-19 Prevention and Control officially ends, Friday (12/02/2021).

Government observer, Muzaqir Boven hopes that the Mayor of Bitung, Max Lomban, will no longer extend it, let alone re-issue a circular, which until now has no clear benefits for the community.

“An in-depth evaluation and study should really be carried out on the benefits of the mayor’s circular regarding the handling and prevention of Covid-19. Because until now the benefits are not clear apart from causing trouble for the community, ”said Muzaqir, Sunday (14/02/2021).

Moreover, he said, the last circular issued by the mayor was on February 2 and immediately took effect on February 3. The impact was even on MSMEs and art workers who could not work for 12 days.

“Is the spread of covid-19 only at night so that community activities are limited at night? This is what the study is not clear about and it seems that they are just participating in making policies without seeing the impact, “he said.

In addition, said Muzaqir, until now there has been no review of a circular being able to reduce the number of spread of covid-19 in the City of Bitung.

“In fact, as far as I know, when the circular limiting activities was imposed, the number of additional cases of Covid-19 in Bitung City was increasing every day. This is funny and ridiculous in my opinion, “he said.

For this reason, he hopes that the government, in this case the mayor, will really conduct a study before issuing policies related to the handling of Covid-19 in the City of Bitung so that the benefits are truly real, not the other way around.

“Involve all parties and do an in-depth study because every issuance of a circular will definitely have an impact on the economy of the community,” he said.

Regarding the expiration of the circular letter limiting community activities, the Secretary of the Regional Disaster Management Agency of Bitung City Government, Alfindo Mongkol, has not denied.

According to him, February 12, 2021 is the deadline for the mayor’s circular Number: 008/46 / W and has not been extended.

“Whether it will be extended, it will be decided later in the Bitung City Covid-19 Task Force evaluation meeting,” said Alfindo.

Regarding the benefits of a circular letter for efforts to prevent and break the chain of spread of covid-19, Alfindo stated that it would definitely be discussed at the Task Force evaluation meeting.

“It will definitely be re-evaluated and see the survey rate data. And later it will be decided in a Task Force meeting, “he said.
