On a Diet? These 5 Types of Tea Can Help Your Diet Program
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Tea has long been known to have a myriad of good health benefits. In fact, several types of tea are nutritious for weight loss for those of you who are undergoing a diet program.
Tea can also help relieve throat discomfort and provide a calming effect.
Reporting from Wolipop, these five types of tea help the diet program and reduce waist circumference:
1. Green Tea
Green tea contains antioxidants called catechins and epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). The latter is believed to increase metabolism and help burn fat.
Citing Prevention, the researchers found that green tea extract caused changes in the expression of fat metabolism genes, especially when consumed consistently over a long period of time.

2. Oolong tea
It is not only green tea that is considered to be the most nutritious for helping diet programs, researchers believe that oolong tea actually has better properties in the same way.
Oolong tea is known to increase thermogenesis which makes the body produce heat, thus burning more calories.

3. Black Tea
Black tea is a type of tea that undergoes more oxidation than other types of tea. Several studies have found that black tea is effective for weight control.
Reporting from Healthline, some scientists theorize that this benefit is derived from the flavonoid content of black tea. In fact, a study found that people with a high intake of flavonoids had a lower body mass index than those who rarely got flavonoid intake.

4. White Tea
White tea is known to help suppress appetite and increase metabolism. Quoting NDTV, this benefit is obtained from the catechin content of white tea.
For this reason, consume white tea regularly to lose weight.

5. Telang Tea
Not only tea made from leaves, tea from telang flowers is claimed to be effective in helping you lose weight. Research has found that regular consumption of telang tea can increase metabolism, which in turn helps burn more fat.
Research published in the International Journal of Obesity and Related Metabolic Disorder also found that telang tea can help prevent obesity.
