Mediterranean Diet
The Mediterranean diet has again been named the best diet among all diets. The Mediterranean diet has been considered the gold standard in nutrition, disease prevention, health, and longevity.

This diet is superior because it is rich in vegetables, fruit, fish, nuts, pulses such as peas and lentils, and olive oil. In addition, the Mediterranean diet also severely restricts the consumption of processed foods and sugars, including red meat.

In other words, the Mediterranean diet is not only balanced but also contains foods that are rich in taste and are filling. The Mediterranean diet is also seen as a style of eating rather than a very rule-oriented diet. Therefore, there are no specific rules regarding portions, calorie targets, or food composition.

The DASH Diet
The DASH diet is actually in the same order as the Mediterranean diet. DASH stands for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension. As the name suggests, this diet is promoted by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for people with hypertension problems.

The DASH diet shares similarities with the Mediterranean diet. However, this diet has a specific diet that must be achieved.

Besides being effective at lowering blood pressure, the DASH diet can also help with weight loss, protect heart health, and reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and some types of cancer.
